Sustainability
At Sin Heng Chan (Malaya) Berhad, we believe that long-term economic success is inseparable from environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sound governance.
In our plantation segment, we are firmly committed to producing sustainable palm oil to the principles of No Deforestation, No Peat, and No Exploitation (NDPE). Our policy, revised on 22 October 2025, aligns with the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification and the expectations of downstream markets and global buyers.
We extend our sincere gratitude to those providing comments, feedback and support on our sustainability journey, including all employees, contractors, suppliers, NGOs and community partners in our shared commitment to protecting both people and the planet.
The Group has established a set of policies that guide our sustainability commitments across all operations and subsidiaries. They align with applicable laws, certification standards, and our NDPE requirements. The policies are applicable to all employees, suppliers, contractors, and business partners. We have taken deliberate action to address our sustainability challenges on the ground through the issuance of clear instructions to all contractors and field staff to comply fully with our NDPE commitments which recognise 31 December 2015 as the cut-off date for compliance. Any identified and verified non-compliance to these policies shall result in a structured remediation or recovery programme to address legacy issues transparently and responsibly.
We believe sustainability also means being accountable and responsive to those affected by our operations. We are committed to resolving all legitimate grievances through a fair, transparent, and inclusive process.
A formal Grievance Mechanism is currently being developed to provide clear channels for stakeholders—including employees, contractors, communities, and NGOs—to raise concerns or complaints. The process will ensure that each case is logged, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner, with outcomes communicated publicly.
In the interim, stakeholders may contact the Sustainability Department at [email protected] for assistance or clarification. We welcome submissions from any party concerning alleged non-compliance with our sustainability policies.
We are dedicated to ongoing enhancement of our sustainability performance. To maintain transparency, we will publish a Remediation/Recovery Plan aligned with the NDPE cutoff date and provide regular stakeholder updates on indicators, grievance resolution, and community engagement outcomes.
